BOBBITO GARCÍA aka KOOL BOB LOVE‘s deejay set features an eclectic mix of global grooves – from World Jazz to Soul, blended with progressive Hip Hop. During the 1990s, the legendary air personality was one-half of the “Stretch and Bobbito” program on WKCR. The duo introduced the world to an unsigned Nas, Biggie, and Wu-Tang, as well as an unknown Jay-Z, Eminem, and The Fugees. Bobbito’s performance at Sound Table features accompaniment by Atlanta-based turntable legend, DJ Kemit.

DJ KEMIT weaves a sonic tapestry of house music standards, rare soul grooves, Afrobeat or hip-hop classics that have been making party-goers and tastemakers call him Atlanta’s best for nearly 30 years. But it’s his work as a producer that has established him as an artist who combines all the genius of the music he spins to create a unique sound that is as refined and authoritative as the man himself. Kemit is consistently referenced among DJs and music lovers – with tastes as varied as Kemit’s collection, from hip-hop to house to drum and bass – as an incredible and influential talent. In all, he represents the collaborative, creative and conscious soul of music.

ROCK RUBBER 45s is a cinematic odyssey exploring the connectivity and community of the global basketball, sneaker, and music lifestyle through the firsthand lens of authentic culture orchestrator Bobbito García. The film explores García’s youth dealing with mistreatment, educational quandaries, identity, and loss—as well as his ascension to self-determination as an adult freelance creative. The ballplayer / author / DJ / filmmaker has carved an independent career that has inspired millions throughout the world, and has affected the growth and direction of the footwear, Hip Hop, and sports industries.
